OOIDA Question

Had someone ask me a question privately that I don't know the answer to, so I'll ask on here for those more familiar with OOIDA.

Can Van drivers join OOIDA, or is it just for Truck Drivers? The reason this gentleman was asking, is he's hoping to take advantage of their medical insurance, etc, but didn't want to call them directly and risk embarassment!

Thanks,

Absolutely ANYONE can join OOIDA! The dues are better spent for those involved in the trucking industry in some form who can benefit from the organization, but there are no member requirements.

They are glad to answer any questions but their medical insurance consists of things like dental and eye . They have disability and life but not major medical . Check their website and e-mail questions if you wish .

I recently paid a personal visit to OOIDA's HQ near Kansas City with some questions of my own. Even though I walked in unannounced, the people there were very friendly and helpful. In no time, I was seated in a private office with an OOIDA official who was generous with his time and eager to help. These folks would be disappointed to learn that someone - member or not- did not call them directly with a question he or she may have. Call them! They'll be pleased you did.
