I am a long time member of ooida, they have there good points and bad as all organizations do,so ill keep paying my dues, but there is one thing I do know
years back there was a sign in every truck stop to call you senator or congressman and explain why the radar detector should not be banned in a truck,so that year every truck driver you talked to said they made the call, and as I also did,you gave your name and where you lived.well from that, our elected officials determined that most of the truck drivers in this country dont vote,so guess what, good by radar detector
with the number of truck drivers in this country,if we all stood together, many issues would change, this ooida is trying but, they say they need more members,we can do this without ooida, and I dont mean strike, all strike does is make people mad,we have enough haters
ooida says run comliant, next time you see ooida sticker on a 75 mph truck running thru ohio, call ooida and ask about compliant
all it takes is we all run legal, and we can get what we want
you run legal and the 14 hour rule will be changed, when consignees are backed up with trucks that have to sit for 10 hours, what do you think will happen,or shippers yards are full cause these legal trucks ran out of there 14 hours, and freight is now 10 hours behind.
when you have the shippers and consignees involved, something will happen, and yes slow those speeds down,I'm running 60 mph in most cases,7.5 mpg much better than 6 mpg I get at 70
