On-Line Auction

I'm not very technically savvy, especially with computers and the internet. I would define e-bay as an on-line auction where one can view items and bid on them via the internet. I checked with my kids and they agree with my definition. Can someone explain this sign?

At some auctions instead of having to be present at the physical location of the auction, you can place an online bid over the internet.

There's an antique shop a few miles south of where I live. Out front they have a sign that says, "Antiques Made While You Wait". I'm not exactly sure what the implications of that are, but I think the same critical thought went into it as the online auction sign above.
