I am sort of really angry tonight. For some ungodly reason representative Dennis Kucinich seems to have been another democrat to trash the troops and the US by visiting a country who openly supports terrorism and openly saying that the war was based on lies and deceit.
On the heels of the Moveon.org ad in the NYT, it was expected to hear some support of the ad from Hillary and/or Obama but it was the Kucinich who seems to have come out in supporting the far left’s position of hate and contempt for the troops.
Disaffection and treason both come to mind for the comments that he made on Syrian TV, nothing short of a clear disaffection with the US. There is no issue of first amendment rights, there is no consideration that he was acting through proper channels to accomplish something – neither of them apply to his or anyone else for that matter when they remove themselves off of US soil and against the request of the State Department who is trying to maintain diplomatic channels with a hostile country.
Remember that Syria supports terrorism openly and sent a lot of people over to Iraq to kill Americans - both troops and contractors.
His statement about not going to Iraq to see the troops is a clear indication of his contempt for the troops, coupled with the fact that he was clear in his opinion that we should pay the Iraqis for the damage we did to the country.
In his other comments speaking to a crowd of 150 Syrian people he said "Strength through Peace turns the neoconservative doctrine of Peace through Strength on its head. The neo-cons' Peace through Strength, has led to unilateralism, military build up and illegal war." Kucinich continued to say "Strength through Peace favors the upholding of international law, treaties and direct engagement, which is why I am here"
I want to know will his fellow democrats condemn him? Most likely not. I can not see the party that could support terrorism – which silence is condoning these actions – as a party that will make us safe.
So applying the same silence from people who elected him, I also assume that the people of his district also support terrorism.
I honestly think the people need to get smart about this stuff because this is all allowing the terrorist to get stronger.
Oh one last thing, we truly have forgotten the lessons of 9.11 and the losses are now just a footnote.
