Sun Jifa lost both his hands when a homemade blast-fishing bomb exploded prematurely. Unable to afford the prosthetic limbs offered by a hospital, he created his own.

Yep, a Man has to do what is needed to live. Likely the norm where he lives. It take GUTS and BRAINS to carry on like he did. People here often just roll over and beg like stray dogs just because they don't want to leave mommy and daddy and follow the jobs. When our 'putz in charge' had a rough childhood, he did crack.

When many here lose a job they just stand in line holding out a tin cup saying "Please sir, may I have some more?"

THIS guy lost his hands, he improvised, overcame and adapted. Of the two types, I know who I would rather have on my side if the stuff ever hit the fan!
