Obama announces meat purchase to gain more votes in the upcoming election.

Let them get "livestock insurance" like farmers have crop insurance....seems like an intrusion into the private market again....he has done nothing but screw the regular consumer.....it'll create a shortage when things turn around of beef and pork and prices will go sky high....Is he going to subsidize us when that happens?...

1st, its a deal to buy votes..
2nd, a stop gap to slow inflation
3rd yea it his and the lefts desire to subsidize (government control) most all of the people...
4th he just said last week we need to subidize more and more private businesses with government money....

He is a "statist"...Big Government having a controling interest of industry and the people...

No. But I imagine they will raise the welfare recipients checks so they can afford to buy the meat.
Remember, you have to do your "fair share" so they can make that purchase.

No, you're better off being a lazy 'gimme goober'. There are MANY hard working poor who take great pride in earning their way through life. Obama DEPENDS on the 'gimmie goobers' and bums to remain in power. All Marxists do, at least until he completes his take over, mmmm, er, reshaping of America.

Comparing droughts: 1934 and 2012

More than 50% of the United States is under drought conditions, putting 2012 in the same category as some of the worst droughts in history. As bad as the current drought is, the Dust Bowl drought of the 1930s remains the worst. At its height in July 1934, almost 80% of the nation was enduring drought conditions, compared with about 64% today.

I love the one of the worst in 'history' bit. We have very LITTLE history of weather conditions, "G" time speaking. Just 2-300 years. That ain't squat! Drought is just ONE of the way nature renews itself. It allows for fires, ponds dry exposing the bottoms to sunlight which kills bad stuff that has been building up. It cuts back on some types of plants and encourages others. Nature does as nature wants. Either learn to live and work WITH it or die.

some times I think some of you have hardwood between the ears....LOL

Most common person is ignorant of what may happen if it gets worse.....it could blow the economy right out.....the people that can least afford it will be effected most....bread and milk will go sky high...

Yes, it will have outcomes .. some not so good, some better than others ..... but weather is NOT under our direction ... it's kinda like being adrift on a raft in the ocean ... you go where it takes you, and you adapt to it.

Can we perhaps improve our lot .... sure. But we since we are in a 10,000 year warming trend it has allowed humans, and other species, to flourish.

And we really don't have much "written" history back past 6,000 years ... (oh there's that pesky 6,000 year mark some religions speak of.)

Now, given that some say the pyramids were actually constructed on, or near, the 10,000 year mark, one must wonder what technology exsisted as the ice melted away ... musta been some smart cookies back there somewhere.

Creator, or aliens, some one knew something we didn't ... or what the hey, maybe we all arrived on a spaceship about that time .... theories and musings abound!

yeah weather is weather, you guys keep pounding that
People are concerned with what is happening today....there is a drought....and some are getting hurt financially....but the news is what are people going to do today to prepare for what may come..?
