NYC area safe parking?

Any suggestions as to safe parking in tristate area? We normally d/h to Lombardi, but depending on time of day space may not be available. Going to Petro in Bordentown over Statin Island is expensive. One bad experience at a park and ride on LI was enough. We are reluctant to park anywhere there overnight.

This is quit a way out , but , i once parked a St. truck ,over night at the back of this stop&shop :
on hwy 17 , just south of the hwy 71N split , on the west side ,
Paramus ,NJ , 07652.
Gees , that's a though one...

also , only if you drive a str8 truck. no big trucks.
the hackensack ice house,
111 midtown bridge approac, Hackensack , NJ ,07601 ,
take wide turns .
it will become busy in AM , this is the school bus PU lot.

if you on the island go out the LIE and theres a rest area out thar been thar a few times with no problems but no restrooms or snack machines

The rest area on Long Island get full quick. If you aren't there by late afternoon, you're probably out of luck

South of Lombardi in Secaucus there is a Walmart just off the turnpike. It is best to do a gps search ahead of time, because you can see the store from the highway, but it is a spaghetti mess to get to it. It isn't a 24 hour store, but there is parking in an outer lot that is shared with a convention center. In the past they even had porta-johns set up in the summertime.
