been closed since the weekend due to flooding. crews still pumping water off the road then they have to clean up debris.

indiana toll road has declared a toll holiday between portage in and the west booth.

suggest you listen to am 780 for traffic on the 8's. or the xm traffic channel for chicago.


some areas of gary indina also under water. depth goes from 2 ft to 8 ft. sounds like residential areas. best to call ahead.

LAKE COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces I-80/94 has reopened to traffic. Tolls on the Indiana Toll Road (I-90) will resume normal toll operations beginning 10:00 p.m. Central time.

At least three lanes of I-80/94 are open to traffic in both directions between the Illinois State Line and State Road 53 (Broadway). At the I-65 interchange westbound I-80/94 traffic is restricted to two through lanes and eastbound is open to three lanes of traffic. Traffic can travel on I-80/94 between the Illinois and Michigan State Lines.

The following local roads that cross the Borman are still closed south of I-80/94 because of high water. All ramps at Kennedy Avenue are closed. The ramps to southbound Grant Street are closed.

Northbound I-65 has also reopened to unrestricted traffic from U.S. 24 to I-80/94. The ramp from northbound I-65 to eastbound I-80/94 is still closed due to high water and traffic is directed to take the ramp to westbound I-80/94 to Broadway south to eastbound I-80/94. The ramp from eastbound I-80/94 to southbound I-65 is open to traffic but the ramp from westbound I-80/94 to southbound I-65 is still closed due to construction.

I live in a area where it all flooded. Over 2000 homes was flooded in our town. A couple days ago a house blew up destroying 2 houses. To let people know that the 80/94 is open now but exits still might be closed. Please say a prayer for all the people that lost a lot.

there is still flooding expected on the kankakee river in ill and little calumet in nw ind. lit cal crosses near 80/94 and was what swamped the road the previous several days.
