Nugent broke game law in S.D.

"I should have been better informed, more aware and I take full responsibility," Nugent said in a statement after the plea. "The honorable hunting lifestyle is my deepest passion"

LOL,,,What I think he meant to say is,,My hunting lifestyle is about making money and killing something..
Drop him in a state forest or on most private farms and he is no better then the rest of us and he may come up empty handed like the rest of us do sometimes.

Its almost funny how celebrity status can help in court, anyone else may have been convicted on all 11 charges. Ive seen first hand how this guy can be such a successful hunter. Ive delivered tons of concrete into that place in Concord Mich and watched dump truck and dump truck scatter grain across his roads and land all inside a huge chain link fence..How can ya not be successful when ya hunt penned up critters
Something bout this guy and his hunting really bothers me.

Slo, I agree with you, I saw him do some rather unorthodox things and he was kicked off a friend's place because of it.

BUT the article should have been titled something else. He messed up in California but not in SD until he hunted legally, which then it was pointed out that SD has an agreement with other state to apply infractions equally - something I think is BS.

I has little use for the "Nuge" either. I DON'T think that any laws in S.D. were broken. The article said that hunt took place on a preserve. Those places are under different laws and MIGHT not be covered by the agreement. I agree with Greg, what happened in California has NO bearing on any other state, UNLESS, it is part of a interstate poaching ring. I doubt that the "Nuge" is involved in that sort of thing.

In all fairness,,
As kids, He did give us hours and hours of listening pleasure. And something to do on the weekends by following him around for a show.

Not me. I went to school with Derick Saint Holmes(sp?) I KNOW what the "Nuge" did to him. I knew them all. The "NUGE" was kinda nasty. Might still be for all I know. I can tell you one thing for sure, I NEVER went to a "Nuge" concert, union hall dance or anything. Derick was 2 years behind me at Riverview High.

Kind of?

that's mild

I think that the best material his band put out was with Derick, even the later stuff they did together was better then the "dry period" Nugent had and still has without him.

I was being kind. Derick used to hand around with my middle brother. I used to play in bands that had members that "overlapped" with some of the "Amboy Dukes" before they were a group. I even practiced in the basement of a house on "Amboy" street in Lincoln Park. I played in a band with Kenny Monday and a guy from Lincoln Park, last name of Carpenter. I cannot remember his first name. He lived in a trailer park not more than a few blocks off Amboy. He used to play with the "Nuge" too. I did not know the "Nuge" well but I did run into him from time to time.

The "Nuge" really screwed Derick.

Yep, soon to be 60 myself. The "Nuge" really ripped off Derick to say the least.
