NTSB vs FMCSA

As a direct result of that NYC bus accident ,we now see the National Safety Administrating Bord making it's way into the FMCSA responsibility's .

we can all expect tougher regulation in the future, as ATSB recommendations MUST be dressed by the regulatory agency.

and i vaguely remember president Obama stating a reductions of agency's double oversight as one of it's administrations goals.

Yep he said something like that but I would feel better if the NTSB actually came in on passenger transportation more, like them d*mn buses and get them to be better regulated so we don't have massive carnage on the roads.

The sky isn't falling yet - I remember reading that the NTSB made a bunch of recommendations at least 10 years ago, on the issue of truck vs car safety, and the FMCSA has [so far] managed to address only 2 of them: the "no zone" signs on trucks, and the "leave more space" billboards.
The rest of the recommendations [like including truck awareness as part of drivers' ed programs] are still not addressed, despite the clear conclusion that it's the 4 wheelers who cause most accidents with trucks, primarily because they don't understand the physics involved.
