Morning all, anyone heard from Steve on his truck.
You out there Steve ??

Yep I'm here. There not much news at the moment, they pulled the inspection covers and top end and not found any damage or problems, but when they drained the oil.... Well, oil is not suppose to metal chunks in it. They hope to have it in the bay and get the bottom pulled by Wednesday. Best case, new bearings and misc. Worst case if the crankshaft is damaged most likely looking at a new motor.

On the bright side, getting to spend time with my granddaughter, and getting thing done around the house.

Yes it does.

Well just got the word. #4 spun and the rod beat the crankshaft up. Looking at a new motor.

I've not decided what I want to do at this point. She is a good truck, but she is old. There are a couple of used trucks out there, but then you have someone else mess. We will keep you all updated

Just my own opinion, but you have done a lot of work on the ole girl and you know what you have. A pretty dependable truck. I would would do a full inframe on it and go with it.

It spun the Main's so an Inframe not an option. The prices I'm getting on a crate motor installed is a the point that makes it a hard call.

She's been a good truck, and a new crate motor would give us a couple more years but, then we would be back at this point. On the other hand the used market at this time isn't great either. So I'm still weighting all the options

Talking 35 to 40 depending on which companies you talk to. Still haven't spoke to anyone cheap enough or fast enough to have it towed anywhere

I think it is time for a new Jessie 2! Gets a point where it isnt worth throwing that kind of money at a truck.

Whew, got the flu yesterday and let me tell you that was a 24 hour butt kicker!

I have a possible 12.7 that had a full inframe I might be able to get if its the right series and it's had no miles on it since finished. Don't think it would be very expensive. We would just have to make sure it would work !!

That's one thing we are looking at hard, waiting on a couple of dealers to get back to me on a price. Sorry about the flu, hope you feel better.

I'll try to get that info later, I know I've got it here at the house somewhere, but with the move, the office is a bit of a mess.

And thanks for helping, it means a lot to have a work family like this
