Wiser Ones, tell me: if a company cannot get a van out of Chicago, going east, on a Friday, are they really looking?

I've been burned in Chitown more the last couple years then i want to remember....lots of bidding going on, but when living in the high rent district....

Wow, some vans are really slow. I went back in service on Thursday Oct 30th after a week of home time. I've done an IL to KY then onto GA (double load), an OH (paid DH) to Laredo, Laredo to KS and now booked on an OK to MI. Then I'm going home unless they book a load while I'm between OK and MI.

And that includes one day (last Friday) OOS to get a new front hub installed. Grossed over $4,100 this last 10 days. I don't think that's too bad for a short length slop bucket.

Good week there,,dont tell anyone...................

Some rodeos just seem to fall right into place. I will admit your 110x52x48 holds you back sometimes. But it certainly didn't cost you but a load or two this rodeo. That a great van, IMO. And those brokers that you guys keep seeing pop up on your loads going to bat for us REALLY helps!!
Do NOT post their names here. LOL!!

Still stuck in Texas for day number 6. Weathers sucked but could be worse

Where are you in Texas? I got to Laredo Tuesday late morning and was out by early afternoon Wednesday. I thought things were getting better down there. Maybe I just got lucky!

Bill..IMO.....you've been lucky since you got into this business....LOL....and that is great for you....You avoided the bigger carriers either by luck or you planned it.....if you;d been with my carrier or most other bigger carriers sitting 2-5 days would be the norm....My carrier suits MY running style we are a match and I am good.......BUT it would kill you....REally Bill you won't get any better then what you got now...Murray and Sally are one of the best. Hope your good fortunes continue, buddy.....

when I go to places that are out of the way, I try for more money since I know in advance I'll be deadheading out.

Now back to the real world, I've got lucky in Dallas the other day and got a load from Dallas to Athens Al. Then yesterday got one from Cullman Al to Greenville SC. Good pay on both 1.51 and 1.45 a mile.

Are you in a van or straight?

I left Prestige after Allen Johnston gave me a run from Hell Paso to Tennessee for 50 CPM. Felt like I'd been screwed.

More like they ran a train on you're heiny?......lol....just an observation....lol....I would of not even hauled that load, IMO....
