Noaa sucks!

NOAA proves, AGAIN, that they have NO clue what is going on out on Lake Erie, or the rest of the Great Lakes for that matter.

TRIED to go fishing today, checked the weather on NOAA weather, the forecast was for light, SW winds, wave 2', or less.

SO, we head out. The winds were SSW at 15-25. Those 2' or less waves were running, from two different directions, at 2' to 4' with the odd 5' to 6' thrown in for good measure.

I put on the VHF radio, flipped it over to NOAA, they stated current conditions were light SW winds at 5, waves 2' or less. They are a TOTAL JOKE!

We checked with two different cell phone apps, both were parroting NOAA.

Then they expect us to buy their BS when they go on about Lake levels etc etc.

NOAA has ZERO credibility out there.

Inexact? There is a HUGE difference between 5 or less winds and 15-25. Even the "current conditions were reporting 5 or less and wave 2'>. They have NO clue what is happening RIGHT NOW, let alone 2 hours from now.

NOAA sucks.

Don't they have live weather and water condition buoys. They are on state web sites here, best info for current conditions. I get the venting, and lack of credibility.

The reports being mentioned were 5 minutes old. Yes they have bouys and shore based stations as well. I was several miles off shore, so "web sites" were NOT available. That is one of the BEST parts of being out on the Lake!
