No Guns in Valley Forge

I seldom post in the Soapbox but this is a special case. File it under items that make you wonder what the world is coming to.

Diane and I visited the Valley Forge National Historic Park today, the place where George Washington's Continental Army wintered in 1777-78, and from which they went on to defeat the British forces and win the Revolutionary War.

Well, 230 years later, it seems the deer population has grown in the area to the point where it is causing problems. The National Park Service proposes to reduce the population by shooting the deer and using drugs to control the remaining population's birth rate. This has animal lovers up in arms. Some of them were protesting at Valley Forge while we were there.

Part of the Valley Forge story is the hunger the soldiers endured for lack of supplies. Deer were a food source. They were hunted to feed the troops.

These protest signs got my attention, as did their irony. If it were possible to send this photo back in time to the British commander, the Revolutionary War would have ended in favor of the British that winter. Copies could have been distributed to the Continental soldiers, who, upon seeing them, would have died laughing.

People like those have no concept of what this country was built on, they are strictly into the "feel good movement of the moment" ....but you are exactly right, if these people were the type that wintered in Valley Forge, 1st they would have died, 2nd the British would have won....

What is these peoples problem? The deer will be killed humanely and the meat processed and given to charities to feed lesser fortunate Americans.....it is not like they are just going to slaughter them....

Deer are a problem in a lot of states...hunting I read is down around 10% or more and the deer are exploding causing a safety hazard.....and ironically it is the anti-gun lobby that is causing the very problem....

It is the same thing that happens here. We have some of the parks with deer, people step in the poop and all h*ll breaks loose.

It also happens with geese, the developer puts in a big pond and landscapes the place like it is rural area that they just destroyed even sometimes calling it something country estates. It attracts geese and other creatures and everyone in the area has geese poop on their lawns and the driveways, the dogs are terrorized when they chase the geese so they demand that the geese are removed, which sometimes means killing them.

Then from all of it, you have the animal rights people who demand nothing to be done about the deer and the geese, they want them to live free and roam around.

So you know about the lawsuits over metro airport in the '70s and the people who bought houses near by?

They sued over the noise from Metro airport. They bought the houses thinking that the planes never go over the houses but when the wind shifted and the airport used different runways for take offs and they were upset. I don't know if they won or not but it was a big deal for a number of months.

No It happened in Hamilton airport when bedroom community expanded and the airport was upgraded to International from regional and the runways extended....developers knew all along the plans but omitted that from their sales pitch and buyers not doing proper checking out were caught unaware...even though it was public knowledge to most in the area...

It is just another sign of just how sick we are as a country. Normal life is ridiculed and wierdness is now accepted as the norm. Get over it people, MANKIND has hunted since MANKIND has exsisted. That is a FACT. MANKIND is a NATURAL predator who BELONGS in the field hunting. I will NEVER STOP!! I will eat what I choose to eat and aquire my food as I please. You know, FREEDOM? It is a wonderful thing that so many want to take away from us. I will follow REASONABLE game laws when they are based on solid science. Those law will become irrelivent under two cercimstances. ONE: Science is NO LONGER used to make the laws and TWO: IF I need to hunt to provide food. If EITHER situation arises then all bets are off.

We also have a RIGHT to Keep and BEAR Arms. I will NOT give up that RIGHT or have it usurped or infringed on by fascists. PERIOD!!

LOL!!! NO! I could not. The reality behind this movement HAS to be exposed!! THIS IS the kind of enslavement that I keep speaking of. It is NOT ONLY the health care, it is the ENTIRE package that the Left puts forth. They do NOT want freedom they want to control our lives in such a way that we CONFORM to their perverted ideas on life. Like "Kill Babies, NOT Deer!!" These are REALLY sick puppies!!!

Friends of the Animals was founded by a putz by the name of Cleveland Amory. He is dead now. He was an EXTREME leftist and WAS arrested AND convicted of ANIMAL cruality charges once. He had illegallly captured some wolfs to use in an anti-hunting display and keep them in such a way that they DIED from heat and lack of water. Freinds of the Animals also once opposed a deer hunt at Detroit Metro. There was a problem with deer running onto the runways in front of plains. When asked if it was a good idea to prevent a deer plain accident that would KILL PEOPLE their spokesman stated that he would rather see THAT than have the deer killed!! This group, along with MOST other anti-hunting and anti-gun groups are Obama supporters.

Mrs. Layoutshooter and I are leaving in a bit to go see the Alamo. I will be awed to walk were REAL MEN who LOVED Liberty and Freedom MORE THAN THEIR OWN LIVES DIED!! This "pilgramige" will give my "IN YOUR FACE" tanks a MUCH need refill!!

I love that feeling of history...close my eyes and imagine what happened on a site ....I awe inspiring sense of it all...those men died FREE and for freedom for all of us.Those feelings that course thru your vains and the testostrone starts pumping....ohhh God Wheres my gun!!!...they made history...

Those men and all others like them are who I patterned my life after. It is NOT about the guns or the hunting, those are just a couple of the things I enjoy. What it IS about is the RIGHT to live my life as I PLEASE!! To determine it's outcome on MY OWN!! To answer to NO MAN nor Government!! That IS FREEDOM!!! Nothing else matters in life!! I may be way off and I am not a mind reader but is that guy holding the sign not thinking,"My wife is making me hold this sign when I could be with my buddies watching the game and having a cold beer and about now the deer burgers would be coming off the grill" I believe thats what is on his mind and not to mention he may be afraid of a news break during the game and his buddies will see him.

I don't know what direction the women is facing but her skin is not glistening with sweat so I would guess by her short shadow it's about 10:30am,if he leaves now he can still make it in time.LOL
