Nissan Enters Expediting...

I notice neither photo gives any idea of the cargo area. If there isn't room for 3 skids and then a couple feet for the driver to lay down behind the seats, then it's too short.

So they are competing against the American vans and not the Sprinter. A diesel option and extended length option would be what is needed. Why can't the designers at Nissan fiigure this one out?

Yeap thoe 2 things would certainly make it more appealing to OUR industry...and I am sure they will be available in a few yrs...But what do you want to bet, "expediters" did influence their marketing plan at all....

I can't imagine Nissan entering into this niche market to sell a small number of vans outside of a cargo package like GM had.

I was told by Nissan that they would enter the market with a diesel if they could justify it but like ford, they don't see the justification in it.

NVExpedite, are you the Panther/FedEx owner or Landstar guy who has one?

Nice pics NV! But that van still only has 98 inches of floor cargo space and in my opinion that doesn't cut it in this industry.

delivered to nissan thats just the first van there coming out with a longer like the sprinter so youll just have to wait a little bit longer if ya want one plus way better than a over priced sprinter. sprinters are nothing but a hassle mercedes garbage.

They can quickly spit out an extended version if the market demands one. I agree with Greg, this is such a niche market, that it certainly wasn't their priority.
I see a ton of them sitting on dealer lots already. I hope they do well.

I agree that this is a niche market and a very small one. But combine it with plumbing, HAVC, construction, flooring, delivery and passenger transport where longer is usually better and I think that market is quite large. I would guess that in the last five years GM and Ford sell almost as many extended vans as they do standard length.

Mr Moot I'll take that bet. I think it's at least 70-30 in favor of regular length. A medium coffee seems like a fair bet?

problem with a diesel extended would be keeping the gvrw at 10K....the new Sprinters are having a problem with payload....
I'd go with gas..the FSC is calculated on diesel...until some carrier comes up with the bright idea to have separate FSC's...

Nice little van, looks like a comfortable ride with nice features. Four more feet and a diesel would get some serious looks from expeditors.

Why can't Ford or Chevy raise their roof a little? If only.
