I've been in trucking for 25 years and have never experienced such a friendly company. The office workers at Express-1 know how to make you feel like you have chosen the right company. They assured me that I lived in a good location and they would keep me busy.
I signed on with them in the middle of January, 2002. And as of last Friday I called it quits. I had 20 loads during that time. (one week off during spring break) I would call dispatch and let them know that I wanted to be on duty or to make sure that I was on the board. They would say things were slow.
So after complaining to the management about not getting loads, they assured me several times that things would change. Things never did.
My question is, why do companies like Express-1 keep asking for more owner/operators when they can't keep the ones going that they have?
My sat. receiver and signs are coming off. I don't think I will trust any of the other companies either.
Can you relate to this?
