Just starting into this business has a team driver for an O/O. He says he will pay a 60/40 spilt. Just wondering if this is better than pay per mile. He also says drivers pay for nothing, he pays all truck expenses.(After reading a few post on here I am wondering what I am getting my self into lol  ) Just wanted to get your guys opinion's ...Thanks

We pay 40/60. At 60/40, you're usually paying for the fuel.

Make sure there is a contract and read it carefully to see exactly what you're responsible for. No contract, walk away.

Whoever pays for fuel should also get the fuel surcharge. You should also get 100 percent of extras like hand unload, delay, layover, etc regardless of fuel.

60/40 as a team? So you get 30%. If lead driver is there, your team mate, he may get 35% and 25% goes to you. If you and team mate pays fuel, that % to you goes down even more. Contract, contract, contract. I'm greedy, I want 100% moneies, freedom, and yes...exspenses.

Good Luck.

I think it's unusual that lead driver gets more money. Whatever power you get by being lead driver is generally payment enough.

Are there many unrelated teams in expedite? I would guess there aren't, which makes the concept of 'lead driver' moot.
[Moot, of course, is always the lead driver.]

I think the majority are married. You know, the lead driver, and a husband that thinks he's the lead driver.
