New XM TV

I was listening to the Monsters in the Morning and they had a xm commentary about a new satellite television that works like xm. It has a small antenna that mounts on the vehicle and can be used while moving, no 18" dish like they have now. Has anyone heard about it? Where can we get it?

It would be nice to have something that can be permanently mounted and not have to try to locate a signal, plus with a co driver one can drive the other can watch.

They currently make a satelite system that tracks the signal, but the available units are still pretty good size. A smaller version would be nice, especially for van drivers. They make a real small unit now but last I heard, it was just for satelite internet.
If it exists, I would certainly buy it.

There is a flat rooftop system that can be mounted on a roof rack. It provides in motion viewing for about $2300. The more expensive of the large 2' domes works like a QC to track the sat. I suspect it is less than perfect. But might be bought for $1300.
A better solution is to get an extra small dish, and sign up for service at home. That way you get better service options than are offered as a known mobil.

We used the home based reciever and just moved it from truck to home to rv. Worked great and could only be in one at a time.

My SO's folks are RV'ers...they carry the home dish (on a tripod) and set it up when they land...cheap, works, and not so bulky that it's a pain, and it can be aligned quickly once you get the hang of it...get a DVD recorder if you want to watch on the road...
