I am picking up a load in Ocala tomorrow and decided to come down close to p.u. and enjoy some Florida weather. My first night I stayed at the Walmart in Starke on the 301 and Sunday I did a little exploring, picture taking and came across a good burger joint that had a big sign saying truck parking in a little town called Waldo where the 301 and 24 "Y". Now I know this place has been here awhile, so it is not so much new but newly improved. What is really nice to know is that the fueling and convenient store next door who's owners own both lots, are expanding and putting in showers for truckers and more RV sites.
It is easy to get in and out because it is not in a real busy area.
I enjoyed a tasty burger and some homemade double fudge cake YUM. There are several lakes near by so if one wants to go hiking, fishing, or just some casual site seeing it is more than convenient and easy to navigate in a straight truck. If you are in a tractor trailer rig, the truck stop in Waldo did not seem to mind if you dropped for a short bit.
