Well it's 0500,had my 1st deal with the new system,i think.Was woke up with a call from dispatch,they left their extension number for me to call back,thats something new in itself,since load going to canada,on a 53' trailer,customers trailer, I cant go,as my wheelbase is to long,and she even asked me that.Only run offer yesturday,had 266 mile dead head for 74 mile run,it did pay over $3.00 for all miles,but since picking up today,not yesturday,2 days which could turn into 3 days for a 1100 bucks,the 3 bucks a mile didnt look so good.I would have done the load though,if they would have given me a pre advance to dead head the 266 miles,money for fuel and tolls,im not taking money out of bank to run my truck.

Steve...what I've concluded from your posts and others that contract for the Feds is...
That they are just like any other carrier out there...they will let you run yourself into bankrupcy IF you let them and not break a sweat over it.

ovm, that load wasnt a looser,had 75 status as was a 74 mile run,but it picked up today delivered before lunch,today,but the excenter isnt a great place for a tractor to get reloaded,unless you want discount government freight.I know what your saying about running into bankrupcy.I look at things as if i were the company.they are not in business to make me a living,they are there for themselves and stockholders.i just happen to be a partner in this crazy venture,called trucking.If I make them enough money,then i make myself enough,but i'm not going to run at a loss to make their stocholders happy.Im in a tractor,if they ever get another 700 tractors as they have straight trucks,then I wont be here,my competiton is very low compared to all the straight trucks.we actually have more tractor loads than tractos available,as Greg334 said,im in a better situation than the Cand D units.
