ok I am wondering with the Sprinter 2500 GVW 8550 and the 3500 GVW of 11030, I am thinking of few idea's here let me know what you think???? Looking at the 3500 and notice the wheelwell is bad but have a way of dealing with this....and was looking at new 3500 with a 14 ft Morgan van body...am compairing the 3 of them and seems to me in the long run to buy the 14 ft one, but something tells me to stay with the normal vans....I like the 3500 with the GVW of 11030 where I can cut the wheelwells out and put a plate over it and add air-bags in back for weight leveling and keep wheels from hitting the plate.....and make the van pass all inspections, or will companys accept the new 3500 with 14 ft Morgan Van Body now?????? this one gives me alot of comfort over-the-road I can add....like a APU unit....am Big Fan of Freightliner Sprinters......but I still get my B-CDL for now this is my future goal for my own van, if it all works out I may just go International Truck with 84 sleeper...but its one step at a time for me.....God is my pilot and guide, All information be greatly thanks.....God Bless Travel Safe Be Alert.......Chris

on the3500 sprinter only one you would be able to change wheel wells is a 2006 and below

with 16 inch wheels there is no room to do this
also would have to log wheel well is36''
where 2500 is 51''
and building a plateform would defeat having a sprinter

Well, we love our 2006 3500 Sprinter with a raised floor! We still have 58" height to work with and a 60" wide load floor. In addition, all of our gear neatly stores under the platform in totes, giving our interior a very clean professional appearance to our customers. A real bonus is the fact we can carry 4,000 lbs of cargo and still blow by those pesky weigh stations. Because we drive slower than most, we also enjoy 23 MPG regularly!

Yes, this is our first post! :)

Thanks to all, I got lucky and met a Man who drives for FedEx at a local truckstop, and he showed me his 2007 Freightliner 3500 with GVW of 10,000 from factory. he showed me how he cut the wheelwelds back and other things....( Robert from Michigan) and I met Susan with Tri-State with her Sprinter 2500 and I was able to see and understand the defferents......and now this is what I'll work with, but they both told me if I get a B-CDL its best to just go to straight truck......and learn the business with an Exp driver and drive teams......then later after about 1 yrs knowledge then buy my own truck or sprinter......they both were very nice.....so I will do more reading and checking companys out.....Again thanks to all........ God Bless,Travel Safe, Be Alert.......God is my Pilot....

At 11000# you will have to log.

...and scale. i met one 3500 driver who just went ahead and built a platform across and can carry wider loads rather than restricting to 48/50". he loses the tall loads but says the wide ones make up for it. ask your carrier if there is an extra for a sprinter to handle wider loads.
