Honda to Build New Automobile Plant in Mexico for Production of Subcompact Vehicles, Starting in 2014 - Honda.com

In addition to the new auto plant in Mexico, Honda recently announced plans to expand production at several of its plants in the U.S. and Canada:

The Honda plant in Greensburg, Ind., which builds the Civic Sedan and Civic Natural Gas vehicle, will add a new second shift in October of this year.

The Marysville, Ohio, auto plant which builds the Accord Sedan and Coupe, and the Acura TL, will reinstate second-shift production on Line 1 by the end of 2011, returning to full, two-shift production for the first time since January 2009.

In Canada, Alliston Plant 1, which builds the Civic Sedan, Civic Coupe, Civic Si coupe and sedan, and the Civic HF, will return to full, two-shift operations in September. In May, the plant consolidated its two shifts into one-shift operation to cope with parts supply issues following the earthquake in Japan.

The new Mexico plant should also probably be having parts made in the US and Canada as well....so that should also help....

On this kind of stuff I usually go with "watch what they do, not what they say".
Time will tell.

Dave actually the news is the resumption to full production at the US and Canadian plants to support my long time projection that the second half of Sept thru Christmas things should pick up....

It has been pretty busy through the summer so I think the last two quarters will be pretty decent as well.

I've noticed you straights have been rolling fairly well most times this summer...CV's and Sprinters not so much...depending on carrier of course....The fact that John won't bid on that cheap crap just turn our wheels..we sit little longer...

I think he is telling you right. There has been a little less van freight overall, and some of it has been downright cheap.
Personally, I think the market is just a little too over saturated with vans. May even out over the next few months.

That goes back to the thinning of the herd...of which I've been told I am heartless....oh well....

I got enough cash to just sit the rest of the year out if I have to lol. So, I ain't gonne be getting thinned from the herd anytime soon. But as far as owning a home, having a nicer van, making yearly contributions into a 401k plan so I can have some money to survive from age 85 to 90 when I retire, not so much right now. But i'm working on a side business that should prove to be enough to get me in a better economic place. I hope things pick up more for us van people, but i'm not gonna hold my breath just yet.

The Texas sun can do that to a soul. Hope this brings a little better news to some of us out here. We will see.

You the man Fali! You've got more patience than I have. The heat messed my brain up so bad I just took a load half of the way home that paid my fuel to get back home.

I can't handle the long nights in the parking lots like I used to. I think i'm becoming mentally allergic to car alarm chirps and loud music bumbin to the tune of oversized redneck mufflers shootin flames through their pipes and stuff.

I finally broke down out there! But here it's only 73 degrees and 65 at night. It is like 92 in los angeles but only 73 degrees here and no need for air con at all he he!

I sure hope we end up with a busy few months, but I sure don't like what the "talking heads" are saying about the next several years.

But, only 6 more payments on my truck, so I've got that going for me.

I think them talking heads are shooting steam out their butts for the most part....maybe won;t be easy, but we'll chug along..the way you work those 6 payments will be covered...some stress relief is always welcomed...
