Within my 59 years upon this earth, I have put many miles on the ole "binders". I drove them at my 33 year job and then have owned them as O/O. Until recently, they have always been a rough tough ugly work truck. I guess they were the last to spiff up the interior for more comfort. Not that looks are comfortable. Ha! But all in all, I had good luck with them except with engine life. They were dependable trucks, but the engines wore out too fast. In 1972, I drove the last gas burner that my company owned before going diesel. It was a 345 CI engine. It went 280,000 miles before replacing it (or trading). I have never owned a DT466 that ran for that long without overhaul. I am sure there are those who have, but I have never. If International would work on their driver comfort, I would be right back in one. BTW---2 of my grandsons said they would drive this new looking "binder". Course, they are 9 and 11. They have a few more years yet.
