New Expediter Looking for the Company

I'm new to expediting and I'm looking for a company to lease out a 22ft-24ft., straight truck. I live in Fort Worth, TX., and I've been talking to Con-Way NOW and I like what I've been told. I'm going to be driving single and I'm looking to gross $100,000 yearly and hopefully work 40 weeks out of the year. Which company will give me the best opportunity to make the $100,000 yearly and get my home time while leaving me in control of "my own business"?

Better set your sights a little lower. You said will be be available 76% of the time,want home time,and gross 100k as a single driver.

Sorry but the HOS Rules will severly impact you running as a single driver.Even though you may be available there is no guarantee that you will be running 76% of the time. You may take an all night run,deliver in the AM and then you are out of hours for a 10 hour time frame. You will become legal in the evening and probably have to wait until the next day at a minimum,possibly more if your company has trucks ahead of you on the dispatch board.

Probably a more realistic figure is too plan on a gross of $70-75K.
That is based on a n average of $1898 gross per week that you are running.Everyone out here can tell you that you will have many weeks lower than that amount and very few over. If you were running as a team,it's a whole different story.

I agree with Rich.
Keep in mind that they are going to change the HOS rules again. I would predict that they will be even more stringent than the last batch.
I would certainly not have any expectations of income above that 70,000 gross range for a single o/o. Could possibly get a little higher, but not working the 40 weeks schedule.

i would look at egl they are in the houston and ft worth area
and were home every night i haven't been out of town in a year
and i like being home
so check out egl they may fit your need's and if you have a lift gate
