New Entry to Presidential Race

Just heard on the tv news that Michigan's Thaddeus McCotter will announce tomorrow.

He's my rep and I wouldn't vote for him as president. Not that he hasn't done a good job but he is better left to retire.

Are there any specific reasons why you both believe he won't make an excellent president? Just asking. I've seen him a few times on tv. and he is smart, well spoken, and has a dry wit to him. Are there any negatives that you can pinpoint?

He is a nice guy and as you said well spoken and smart but he is a representative and nothing more. He has done OK by my standards but also he has not brought home what I could consider enough for the area.

For example, he had a chance, along with Levin to fight for the passport processing center that would have provided about 500 to 1000 jobs but didn't. Instead that project was given to Arkansas in one of the bills that he voted for. I fault him for that and for a few other federal projects he could have fought for.

Ok So because he is JUST a representative and didn't earmark enough he doesn't get your vote. I really don't think that those two reasons make him unqualified, but thanks for the response.

I'll put it another way. in order for those who want to actually run for something other than their office, they should be a bit more proactive for the district you represent. I don't see him as one who is fighting for any specific issue that helps his district as he could be fighting.
