I have no problem with VMT (Vehicle Mile Travel), as long as the info. will ONLY be used for taxation, and that VMT will REPLACE the fuel tax - both of which will never happen. so i am actually do have a problem with VMT's.

BTW, dont'ch you love it when the main stream media ignore diesel tax all together, because as we (now) know 'gasoline' pay for roads.

the article was specific to cars only.....because by the time this is and will be done....you all big diesel guys will be electronically tracked by EOBR and black box recorders...so there!....LOL

Electric and hybrid cars don't buy much gas, hence no road taxes paid. They need to recoup that revenue somehow.

Of course, Americans driving a bazillion fewer miles might also have something to do with the fact that no one has a job to drive to.

Progressive Ins has a deal similar. Plug it in and Progressive can see what your doing so they know how much to charge you. It's a voluntary thingee!!
