We have done this drive a few times and we enjoy the scenery.

I was solo out here for a short period, and traveled this stretch a few times, I like the little towns you go through, Beatty, tonopah, walker lake, etc.

The last time I was on that route I went from Id to Nev during the day and it was beautiful. The next night went back north and ran into a blizzard. Most of the night I was trying to find the road in the white out. Oh what fun.

Grew up out there. Love that drive. Been over it in some of the best conditions and some of the worst. Love it all. One time we were headed up to Tonopah and there was an explosives truck that turned over on the pass so instead of waiting we cut through Death Valley at Midnight. It was the most beautiful and yet scary experiences we have had. There was a full moon and not another person in sight for several hours. All the weird shapes and reflections. Very alone. Cool night.
