Nanny New York State to ban novelty lighters.

So, Im at the firehall yesterday and I see the Fire Fighters magizine on the desk and I Noticed the headline New York State to ban the manufacture, sale, and distribution of novelty lighters in New York State.
Now, as I read the only points that made sense was the fact some look allot like childrens toys and kids playing with them have caused fires resulting in injuries and a fatal house fire. The only part I agree with abbout this issue is a lighter shaped like a toy is a bad idea. After that its the typical Nanny, comunist, liberal government controll B.S. Dose anyone else agree there is accountability on the parrents who have an obligation to supervise, teach, and protect thier children?

If I want the Expedite truck flame thrower with real smoke, working lights and life like sounds, that should be my choice not the governments.

Nanny State. As a parrent, meddic and fire fighter I think the toyish appearence needs to change I belive in common sense and its getting to be less and less common.
Soon Matel will be forced to change its Hot Wheels line to Wus kid cars and no longer show fire on the label?

Certainly isn't common sense. They wonder why they are broke when they spend that kind of time on being the food police, lighters, guns, and the list goes on.

The more foolish laws they pass, the more they TRY to control our ever move, the more irrelevant they become. The more irrelevant they become the more they will be ignored and the more lawless our society will become.

It is kind of like economics. As you print more and more money each bill becomes more and more worthless. It is the same with laws. The time is coming soon when there will be a total break down do to over control of the People.

Yeah right. FAR too many parents today think kids are little more than pets. They warehouse them, don't allow them to just "play" and be kids, drug the snot out of them, more or less ignore their emotional, spiritual and often physical needs and then wonder what goes wrong.

No. They did, however, design the first M16. They never produced them. Colt did. Mattel only designed the exterior of the rifle, Colt designed the guts.
