Well its been a long time since I posted here. Steve (nightcreacher) reminded me. As alot of you know, I went back to work last year for a wonderful company in KC called OIX. They knew when I started that my husband had cancer and that when the time came I would have to come home. They were very inderstanding and when I said the time had come, they let me come home. I still talk to them and wish I could go back. Hubby passed away April 6th and now I am back in the job market. I have too many animals at home to go back otr so I'm looking for something local. It will be hard to make what I did otr but I'll just have to do whatever I can. I still have a perfect driving record with no tickets or wrecks. The only thing on my record at OIX is a deer that thought she could outrun me down the center of my lane. Oops! We have a Fedex here near the airport so maybe I'll have to drive local delivery. If I could get something between Des Moines and Chicago, that would work too. I'm going to cover as many bases as I can in the next few days as I don't have long before the money runs out completely and I refuse to loose the things we worked 38 years for. Any ideas, I'm always open to suggestions. Be safe, Carol

Welcome back Lady! I'm so sorry for your loss. Good for you for getting back into the game!

We have a son who is doing courier work and he is making great money. He is on call all the time but seems to do well. Often he gets a call to deliver a kidney (for instance) from a teaching hospital to another hospital or an airport. You might want to see what the courier companies in your area have to say.

Welcome back Ladytrucker. I have no profound advice for your search for the right driving job, just wanted to express my deepest sympathy for the loss of your husband. Glad to see that you're ready to jump back in and hope you find the perfect fit for you and your 'pet population'. We're pet lovers too and sometimes it can be difficult. Godspeed
