Never said this was limited to the current Idiot in Chief, but he IS the one in charge now. Not that Mother Jones is always the most credible source mind you.

I am NO fan of Bush, BUT, I will say that he does a LOT for vets, most of which goes unnoticed, on purpose. Out of guilt? Maybe, don't know, but he is doing much behind the scenes. That also in NO WAY excuses anything prior.

Regarding the credibility of Mother Jones: the site/team has won a great many prestigious awards for excellence in investigative journalism.
The Daily Caller [a conservative news & opinion site] has been kown to publish unsubstantiated allegations [against Senator Bob Menendez] that reputable publishers refused, which later proved to be without merit. They may have even paid the women to accuse Sr Menendez - but even if they didn't, they blew whatever credibility they had right there.

One more thing about the Daily Caller: when the slideshows & "hot topics" consist entirely of variations on "hot women/bodies/bikinis", I consider that a mark against serious journalistic credibility. Just sayin.....

The 'prestigious awards' don't mean much IMO. Depends on WHO is handing them out and their credibility.

There have been many, but the prestigious awards are the National Magazine Awards, which are the magazine journalism equivalent of the Pulitzer. MoJo has been nominated 27 times, and won 6. That kind of cred is impeccable, in the eyes of those who take journalism seriously.

By "those who take journalism seriously", I mean, of course, those who are interested in facts & truth, not "hot bodies/babes/bikinis".

Most of the awards and nominations are just popularity contests between like minded libs. No major feat in that .

Well did the DC pay her or not? Sounds like an unsubstantiated allegation. Hehe

I don't know much about The Daily Caller, but this article is a good example of poor journalism which can only be explained as right wing bias.

The writer offers this conclusion:

Obama Administration Knew About VA’s Secret Wait Lists For Years

Upon reading the article there is no proof given to support that conclusion.

The writer simply offered this:

*. . . the Obama administration knew that an internal VA investigation into secret “paper” waiting lists was conducted in 2010 under Shinseki.

It is an assumption that the Obama administration knew of the investigation and there is no proof that the report ever made it to the Presidents desk.

This article would not pass the scrutiny of a high school journalism teacher. :p

Maybe you should look up the actual definition of the word (allegation) - it was stated as possibility by cheri ... not as an accusation of certainty.

As for the unsubstantiated aspect, try these:

What the Washington Post Didn't Tell You About the Daily Caller's Senate Sex Story | Mother Jones

Daily Caller lashes out at Washington Post on Menendez saga - Mackenzie Weinger - POLITICO.com

The Daily Caller Gets Burned By Their Own Menendez Source | Blog | Media Matters for America

Personally, I'd say Bow-Tie Boy is doin' an awful lot of squealing ...

Not the National Magazine Award for General Excellence. The General Excellence category recognizes overall excellence in magazines in six circulation categories. It honors the effectiveness with which writing, reporting, editing and design all come together to command readers' attention and fulfill the magazine's unique editorial mission.

Time, Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, National Geographic, Popular Mechanics, Men's Health, GQ, Wired, Foreign Policy, The Virginia Quarterly Review... are all winners in the General Excellence category. It's a big deal. Like Cheri said, it's the equivalent of the Pulitzer.

It's sponsored by the American Society of Magazine Editors, who's primary goal is the preservation of the First Amendment, not some political bent, and it is presented by the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, which was founded by Joseph Pulitzer. The school also administers and present the Pulitzer Awards, and the Alfred I. duPont–Columbia University Awards for broadcast journalism.

Notable graduates of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism include Pat Buchanan, GOP strategist, presidential advisor, presidential candidate, conservative columnist, and TV commentator; Geraldo Rivera, television reporter and talk show host; and Robert Henry Best, an American broadcaster of Nazi propaganda during World War II who was was convicted of treason in 1948 and sentenced to life imprisonment; and Cardinal John Patrick Foley, Grand Master of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem at the Vatican. It's an eclectic group.

That prooves it's Bushes fault.
:p

I never said otherwise, it may go back further than that. The point is, that this Putz has done NOTHING in 6 YEARS to fix it and he KNEW about it! Obama is in "the seat", since he has been in "the seat" things have gone from bad, to criminal. HE is as responsible for what is taking place while HE is in the seat as Bush was when HE was in that seat, and everyone before that was.

How long are We the People going to tolerate the kind of BS people we have in office? It's Hillary next time. Again, same ole BS. NO quality, NO integrity, NO honor, just more of the same ole manure.

Just think! All you dudes and dudettes who are for all this ObamaCare, or worse, National Health system, it is being run by the SAME bunch that run the VA system! ENJOY! I wonder, do they REALLY believe that on a "national system" , or even under ObamaCare, that they are going to get front line care, front line DR's or front line drugs? NAW, surely no one could be that stupid!

It's time to hold those we send to government ACCOUNTABLE, regardless of party. We are allowing them to destroy us.
