Misery loves company

I just got done reading a blog that I recently discovered, and this statement jumped out at me, and I instantly thought of the Soapbox.

"Misery loves company, and nothing brings people together like a perception of shared misery. In times of uncertainty, when the world changes and people feel like they have lost control of their own destiny, they tend to band together to share their tales of woe – and there’s nothing worse for angry miserable people than to surround themselves with other angry miserable people. They tend to feed on each other, inventing a shared illusion of misery that perversely makes them feel better, like they are part of something and therefore not so alone in a strange and alien world."

The subject the blogger was talking about was, "Teacher Bashing". Here is the link to the article: Stonekettle Station: Teacher Bashing 101

I'm sure most of the Soapbox will not like the article, or read it for that matter, but I thought that other's that do not participate in the dialogue(if you want to call it that) or "lurkers" if you will, would appreciate it. Enjoy.

Taking the marxist theme out of my post for a moment, as someone who has experienced a failed school system, I do believe that anyone can teach. There is nothing special about teaching kids, a lot of parents do that everyday.

By the way I don't believe the school system is Marxist.
