It must be REALLY cold in Michigan. I just saw a "little report" noting that Michigan deer are already "yarding up", their conservation of energy mode, much earlier than normal. Not good. Starvation may be a problem this year. The problem with the cold will be compounded by the expanding areas of old growth forests in Michigan. Old growth forests produce almost no food and animal life, for the most part, does not do well in them. There has been a marked drop in the numbers of snowshoe hairs as the "green deserts" expand.
