Def is not a Mercedes only problem. All manufacturers have issues with it, including big rigs. My belief is that the technology hasn't caught up with the regulations.

Just finished up at the dealer in Daytona. Had service rep. check to see if I was included in recall and he said I was not part of the recall.

I think its more of a CYA issue...since nearly almost every auto maker is involved to some degree....

I tell ya when I went to my sons way up in Alberta and I got rid of all this US crap and ran on pure 50 cetane and NO bio...this thing ran like a sewing machine....engine was soooooo smooth and no knock nor shivering or studdering AND a steady 24 mpg at 105 Kmph
That's how mine runs when and if I need to buy Canadian fuel. Purrs just like a kitten.

Did the math, tho. Diesel at the Pilot in Lethbridge, AB is $2.29 (converted to USD and gallons), vs $1.69 in Shelby, MT. If you want Chivas Regal, ya gotta pay for it :)

Diesel over the bridge from Detroit is the equivalent of 2 USD per gallon so pretty much a wash if you're using Greenback's. That's mainly due to the Canadian dollar being so weak right now.

You are correct but the system that's on the sprinters seems to be more problematic than other manufacturers. A friend has a dodge with DEF and has had no issues that I'm aware of with over 200k on it.

My entire fleet of Promasters have not had even one sensor go bad and not one nonsense has happened. Our biggest problem is the headlight bulbs are very difficult to replace and they go bad too often, probably because they are so difficult to replace that the installers probably are touching the glass, causing premature failure.

We are very happy we settled on Promasters for our fleet standard!

Maybe having 70 MPH limiters is keeping hotrod drivers from killing them?

And the Canadian gallon is bigger... By almost 25%
A US quart is only 32 oz's compared to 40 oz's

I just wish they would make a longer pro master or transit. Once you get used to the length of a sprinter it's hard to down size.

I drove a Promaster for about 2 days about 3 weeks ago. Kinda liked the way it rode and and handled the road. The only thing I did not like and probably would hinder me from buying one is the drop down from the drivers compartment to the cargo hold area.
