Meltdown

I just got another intelligible email from the DNC. It seems that they want one of the candidates to step down now. Howard Dean is making a determination which candidate can win against McCain, he wants the other one to step down but he won't say which one.

It is great to see them in meltdown mode and the people who think they voted for a president actually are starting to realize their vote is not binding with the party. I already heard on one radio station the dumbest thing I ever heard "we are going to sue the federal govment because we didn't have our votes counted and the republicans are going to steal another lection"

Needless to say this is coming from one of the suburbs here in the area and the guy who made the comment does not understand that his vote never counted - it is a primary.

Now I know there are a lot here that will vote demcratic, don't know why the party is in a mess, the candidates are either Socialist or Fascist and the party will pick the candidate they want to back, no voting required. See the thing is, I maybe wrong about this but I am seeing that what ever process we have gone through thus far means nothing. All this wrangling over voting, over delegates, what superdelegates mean and all that other stuff means nothing. When it comes down to it, the party will decide without any votes counted or deligets heard from.

So I ask, if this goes the way I think it is going to go, why did we have a primary in the first place?

Isn't it time that we return to the way the parties picked the candidates, by themselves within the party?

The Meltdown continues: while recently making the greatest speech ever given, Barak Hussein Obama stated that he could no more disown Reverend Wright than he could disown the Black Community. Well, today BHO not only disowned the good Reverend but also voted him totally off his campaign island in a national press conference. This happened after defending Wright and his radical rants again only 48 hours prior during the Chris Wallace interview on Sunday. The more we learn about this guy, the more we see that he's just another radical left-winger with way more show than substance. Should be an interesting Democratic convention.

It shows the unfairness of the election process whether it be the primary or general election. All votes should be counted. If this happens in the primary then what stops this from happening during the general election. NOTHING.

A primary election (nominating primary) is an election in which voters in a jurisdiction select candidates for a subsequent election. In other words, primary elections are one means by which a political party nominates candidates for the following general election. "Primaries" are common in the United States, where their origins are traced to the progressive movement. There, primary elections are conducted by government on behalf of the parties. Elsewhere in the world, the nomination of candidates is usually the responsibility of the political party organizations themselves and does not involve the general public.

General election is also a term used in opposition to primary election. In the United States, primary elections "serve to narrow down a field of candidates", and general elections actually elect candidates to offices. The general election is usually held on Election Day, the Tuesday after the first Monday in November of even-numbered years.

It meets the above definition of "general election" in that the entire United States House of Representatives is elected on Election Day, though not the entire United States Congress. Prior to the 17th Amendment, members of the United States Senate were not directly elected by the people but rather by their state legislature. Though Senators have been directly elected since then, only one-third of them are up for election on any given Election Day. The U.S. President is also chosen during a November general election that follows primaries.

So those people that are upset about it have a right to be concerned. Asking a candidate to step down is just asinine. Why so the one asking for the other to step down can be elected? Geez. Play by the rules.
