I not sure many of us want to go camping to much anymore considering we do it almost everyday but below is link to state camp grounds in Michigan if you are looking for a change of pace and maybe get a lil fishing or hiking in while on layover. Im Not trying to promote spending your money in Michigan but at least I like to think some of it may filter down and actually be used for state land and the wildlife. All things I enjoy.
Parking permits (acess permits) have changed here for residents not sure bout the day passes and for out of state ppl.Check into it before ya go.
