I can't speak to the sealed wheel bearing / hub assemblies on the sprinter, ut GM uses them also and you can't do a thing to them, except replace them when they go bad..in 300,000 miles I replace both sides twice...I mess getting my hands full of bearing grease and packing those old wheel bearings....

Oh, at home on the sofa, eating pickles!!!:D

Are those parts expensive?

I just spoke with the service dept where I ordered the Sprinter from. Yep, they are sealed and are not serviceable. I was told by them
that they may have had 1 or 2 failures, but couldn't tell me at what mileage. Forgot to ask how much to replace the whole assembly.

all that for a seized caliper...gee whiz....

now a stroke of bad luck....Dallas sent the wrong caliper...so I get the night off in a nice motel....

the good part, the brakes were on the "to do list" for later in the summer....done now...and the tranny and rear end also done..outside of a set of tires, I am all caught up to my PM..which is a good thing....:D

oh yeah front bearings were also repacked while they were in there...scratch another off the list

Only one I know of that can drive down the road with a seized caliper and not have to use his fire extinguisher.....

That guardian angel of yours is breathing heavy.:D

Scott,, around $80 a piece and 3 hours labor if you pay to have them changed...I changed mne in the parking lot of the Auto Zone I bought them at the last time i had to do it...not hard if you are mechanically inclined and you know what you are doing...it is easy enough to do that I can talk you thru it over the phone...

Tracy is going from Kentucky to the Yard in Taylor today, with a load, should be there early evening. Christy says that he will then get local runs for the rest of the week.

We will have defiinate times for the funeral this afternoon after the parents get back from making the arrangements. We are expecting the funeral to be on Monday.

I will be back in service with Tracy on Tuesday then.

Nah, don't sweat him Shadow. The trick is not to be near him if and when that "luck" runs out, or the angel is on vacation. The fallout will probably be stuff of legend.:D

You may run but you can't hide...*LOL* I'll smell the pickle juice!!:p

Steve....the tech had me try to turn the wheel...I had to put my all into it to get it to budge....

The saga kind of ended in a humourous manner....after the parts guy picked up the wrong caliper twice no less....the tech gets it all together..and lo and behold...they were out of brake fluid!!! *LOL* another 1/2 hour they just went to Auto Zone to buy it...

Now in Ennis Tx at a Wally World...in service....I hope...
