Unfortunately, most of the carriers try to "catch down" to "yellow penske boxes", instead of setting their own standard. It use to be.." it's how much you run, it's how much you run for " or " Run less make more. "
As the world turns, so do the rest of our lives. Lol

I used to be very idealistic at one time, years ago...and then reality of this business sunk in....To quote the great OVM, "it's my business to run, not yours" and we are very satisfied with our businessIf ya don't have the stones to post the rate ... all you're doing is broadcasting that you drive for bottom feeder rates ... beyond dirt cheap!
Post the rate ... let's see if you make more on those 3,300 mi than I make on the 2,700 mi I booked earlier today. Doubtful .....

agreed...the bigger carriers are now Part of the downfall of this business....sucking every penny out of the O/O with stupid. redundant policies and their hypocrisy...IMOUnfortunately, most of the carriers try to "catch down" to "yellow penske boxes", instead of setting their own standard. It use to be.." it's how much you run, it's how much you run for " or " Run less make more. That's a big reason I left a big carrier that resembles the letters XPO, I like the people there, they just weren't able to keep me moving other than a lot of paid empty moves and deadhead that hurt my overall rate and bottom line...that is why I joined Murray's Marauders...im happy with what he has done so far.agreed...the bigger carriers are now Part of the downfall of this business....sucking every penny out of the O/O with stupid. redundant policies and their hypocrisy...IMO
IMO, the O/O needs more flexiblity to respond to the situation on a daily basis....something a big carrier just can not do...big carriers need to go the way of the dinosaur...

Don't leave us, OVM, we need those $1.25 rate loads you were always running. Many years ago...the owner and CEO came in here and forecast this business would become a volume situation and we O/O would become a commodity...and many of us in here chastized the man for calling us a commodity like pork bellies.....and over time he was spot on....its has become exactly what he said...carriers need you to run all the miles possible, hence the recruiting drive and keeping their fleet numbers high.
Its an admirable task that some are trying to hold onto the past....but as they leave us, this biz just keeps reaching new lows...

Weed whacked until the battery ran out. Got a feeling my arms are gonna be a little sore tomorrow. Probably shouldn't of used it to trim the high hedge, but it worked and faster then by hand
