Making a Change

I love this business!

9 months ago, I purchased a cargo van, signed on with multiple carriers and 100,000 miles later am making a change. I have a driver set to start running my van and I will begin as the new Operations Manager for On Call Logistics Inc. On Call was one of the original companies I signed on with. I am going to miss being out on the road but am really looking forward to the new challenge. Working with drivers, developing new customers, setting up a 24/7 dispatch center and helping this be the best little expedite company on the planet.

Working with drivers.
Drivers you respect now may be viewed very differently six months from now.
It's very different being on the other side of the desk.
Wish you luck. The worst thing that can happen is you'll be back on the road, with a better understanding of how and why things happen.

Rich is going to be my new right hand man. I'm going to use him to crack the whip on the new drivers kind of like a good cop bad cop routine! lol. We are going to be opening up a real office location in Traverse City Michigan. I've learned a lot about running a company in the past few months - the biggest thing that I have learned is that one man can't run a company all by himself. Getting sick and going into the hospital and having to live with limited mobility and the nasty side effects of blood thinners has taught me that I need to have good help in order to grow my company.

So, all of you guys, look for our new website to be coming out soon, our new logo, and our trucks! I hope me and Rich can build On Call Logistics Inc into one of the best expediting companies in the nation while providing the state of Michigan with jobs and economic growth. I am from California but I have fallen in love with the state of Michigan. There is something to be said about all of the hard working people who continue to fight for jobs and for a good way of life. This enduring spirit is what Detroit and the rest of Michigan is all about. I want to be a part of that!

Once I'm well enough to travel again I am going to be moving to the great state of Michigan where I will help Rich in the day to day operations of the company. We have recently received an infusion of cash from one of our silent business partners that is going to allow us to grow to the next level of operations. We are investing in some really state of the ard broker and dispatch software along with a state of the art website and call center that will be available to process our customers orders in a fast, thoro, and high tech fashion. I welcome any and all new drivers who want to sign up with us and become a part of our award winning team.

Yup. I have to make sure I'm well before I go on a long trip. I haven't tested how far I can get on this leg before it locks up on me. I am so scared of breaking down somewhere and not being able to make it to the offramp. But I sincerely look forward to living in Michigan. California is becoming a liberal concrete jungle! They thought legalizing Marijuana would help the police department instead crime is continuing to go up out here! And like Zorry posted "worse case scenario we'll be back in our vans having learned a big lesson in business ownership 101!"

Good luck to both of you! I like folks that are willing to take a risk ...... but I assure it will indeed be a different ball game once yer pushing a desk! Nice thing though, at least y'all will understand the road aspects of your business, to weed out the BS, and to help those with genuine issues out here!
