Hi all!
The significant increase in available freight has happened once again - especially over the last two to three months - which personally, I attribute in large part to the industry’s cyclical nature - especially as we enter into the last quarter of 2006.
Historically speaking, the next three months have been “where it’s at†- basically, for all drivers everywhere.
Like a squirrel instinctively gathers nuts to last it the long cold winter, these next three months will find those drivers “in the know†staying in service the whole time, striving for money making runs.
Why should you do it? Perhaps to make up for possible lost revenue during the first three quarters, perhaps to store up your “nuts†to “ hold you over†for the historical slow months of the up and coming first quarter of 2007.
Folks, if history repeats itself again, then now is the time to get out there, and if at all possible, stay out there - and remain in service till the bitter end - of December - because when there are few nuts to gather in 4 or 5 months from now, you’ll be glad you made your hay while the sun was shining!
So here’s to wishing that all drivers everywhere harvest a huge bumper crop these last three months of 2006!
Oh......
Just my .02
For what it’s worth
Just my humble opinion, etc. etc. etc.
Note:
My above .02 only applies to “regular expeditingâ€. It does not in the slightest intend to refer the “above and beyond†specialty or tval type services that know no spikes in the possible seasonality of load offerings due to the very special and intense nature of the extra expedient variables of those particular giant dollar loads.
Best of luck to all and be safe out there!
