lose of power

I drive two to three hours and power begins to fall off. I shut off vehicle for a couple minutes, and I'm back in business. Two or three hours and power drops off again. No malfunction codes. Dealership can't find anything. I'm now thinking grime in the fuel tank that blocks the fuel intake?

The vehicle is a 2007 Sprinter.

I'm no mechanic and actually not in the same county as one but it doesn't sound like a clogged fuel system. It sounds maybe like a heat related issue although a 2-3 minute shut down isn't very long to cool off and 2-3 hours is a long time to overheat. The other thing I think of is some sort of electrical thing to do with the fuel pump that after a while it doesn't pump enough volume of fuel. Considering my general mechanical knowledge and ability it's probably something like the passenger seat seatbelt buckle or something equally removed from those I mentioned. Anyway, those are the thoughts that struck me. I'm going for aspirin now.

A change in fuel pressure at the pump (should throw a code) or on a Sprinter, an issue at the EGR/emission system.
Cars use to have those issues when the catalytic converter started to clog.

Is it a newer cat it may be the crankcase breather filter
Also had a m2 that someone put a small funnel shaped in both fuel tanks,to me about $2000 to find it you have to pull the fuel line from the tank right when it happens to know if its in there because it backs out of sight in about 3 min

Have the Turbo Boost Solenoid checked. It's probably failing. If that's not it, pull the EGR valve and clean it out real good.

I had that problem when my Sprinter was a whole day old. Dealership replaced the EGR valve and it has been ok for 7000 miles.

They told me that was a common problem with Sprinters though once replaced, they knew of no further problems.
