Hi All,

After getting on people about driving trucks easy (no jack rabbit starts, easy driving until warmed up, coast to lights as opposed hard braking etc..) paying attention to things (low branches / bridges etc) .....I had a driver get our truck stuck under a bridge.... UGH

Anyways the box will need to be replaced....Fortunately , I had collision insurance on the truck ! (on many of my vehicles, I typically only have Liability only and at most comprehensive too),

The insurance agent recommended I source a good place to do the work and possibly a good used box before he submits the claim to the insurance co (he figures since I am less than a year into my trucking he didn't want too many claims to possibly cause the ins co to drop me and he didn't want the insurance so to see a huge claim right off the bat (I guess new boxes are probably very expensive).

Currently I have a 24' box on the truck (a 2000 international 4700)....

I was thinking , since I have to get another box anyways, I may spend a little extra to make the truck a 26' box truck (I think the wheel base can stay the same just extend the rear of the frame so the lift gate is in the right place when it's all said and done (only reason for that is a new contract I can get calls for 26' boxes only NOT 24').

Anyways, I'm near Richmond, VA and was wondering if anybody knows of a good place to get a box and a box swapped out at so I can let the Insurance guy know.

I have seen used boxes go anywhere from about $1500 to $6000 not installed BUT the boxes were far away (some several states away).

My Ideal box would be a 26' box set up for a lift gate (meaning has the plate behind the rear roll up door and side steps under that plate by the lift gate since the liftgate itself on my truck is good and mounted on the frame) , translucent roof, 3 rows of e track, side door, LED lights / cargo lights, 102 wide , white color,
must have a good roll up door since I had replaced mine with a new one less than a year ago for $1800 or so,,,,UGH

Thanks in advance for any and all help about boxes and where to get them installed

Andrew
