Officer: What were you doing up in that area?
Suspect: Just driving around, looking for someone to shoot.
Officer: Why did you shoot him?
Suspect: For no reason, just shot him.
Officer: You shot him for no reason?
Suspect: That's it.

After that confession, making the third murder conviction of his criminal career, the suspect was sentenced to 30 years. It surely sounds more like a capital crime than a 30 year crime.

That was taken from the television as a portion of the actual interrogation was aired. The closed captioning matched the spoken text.

Some information about this would be helpful in a discussion. Now we have a context of television, but what is it from? NCIS? Law and Order SVU? Ancient Illegal Aliens? Officers Question Officers?

It was from one of the forensics/investigative shows that recount actual cases toward the end when they're revealing the solution.

Do we really need to be so criptic. How about just say which TV show. Sheesh.

I watch a few and don't recall which one. Does it really matter which one? Choose from 'Forensics Files', 'Cold Case Files' or 'Inside Homicide'. Oh, and before the usual suspects chime in, that's not the CCF series from a few years ago, it's the real stories.

The problem is, without any information on the case that can be looked up and researched, the brief premise and concise conclusion doesn't exactly engender talking points for discussion. About the only thing that can be said in response to the OP is, "Uhm, OK." :D
