Veteran Expediter
Evening everyone!
Almost a year ago, I started looking into expediting as a possible future career and "lurking" here on EO. I even made a rather lengthy post , explaining our thoughts. (Here Caution, it will take a while to read!)
Well, here is what we have been doing for the last year and also where we are at now in this process:
I've continued to "lurk" and even posted a few times.
We are both still working for the public charter school. Getting ready for our sixth year here.
Both now a year older (maybe not wiser!)
Our oldest daughter finished her first year of college at BGSU, and is even going back for a second!
Twins are getting ready to start their senior year of high school.
Lost an uncle and a close friend. (Life is short. These events reinforce that fact even more.)
We have come to the decision that we need to be doing "something more" spiritually with our lives. What that is, we are not entirely sure of yet!
We have continued our "research" into expediting. I have spoken with several of you (and some others) over the last year. I've really enjoyed following the forum.
We attended the Expo, but unfortunately, we were only able to stay for about two hours early Friday. Saw all of the displays (trucks, vans, sprinters, carriers, vendors). Even got to me Linda Caffee and Molly! Also got to talk (but just for a minute) with Phil Madsen whom we had met with before when they visited our church back in October.
I wish we had more time, and I would have really liked to have met more of you, but we were pressed for time.
The Expo was very informative and very well done. We were able to actually "get inside" the trucks on display. It was nice to be able to actually talk "face to face" with some of the recruiters. (And we got lots of stuff too!)
For now, we are quite a bit more interested than before the expo in getting into expediting, although we will continue our research and "networking". (I still think it would be no earlier than Sept 2010)
I'll continue to "lurk" here, as this is a great resource!
