Looking ahead (Greenfield, IN)

I am looking at expediting in the future(few years), and would like to meet a few people in the business already and would like to learn more. If you live and work as an expideter (van/sprinter) in my area I would like to meet you to get more familiar with what I am looking at doing.

I am from New Castle. One of the best things to do is check out the pilot up on 70 at the Cumberland for expedite trucks or the flying j over at the Spiceland exit on 70. Do not be afraid to approach them and begin a conversion (the men anyway). Be sure to put on your bull**** radar and take both the good and bad you hear with a grain of salt.

I stopped at truckstops all over the place whenever i was out. As was said, don't be afriad to approuch them, just ask if you can ask them a few questions.. you will get answers, but also as was said take the really good stuff as well as the really bad stuff with a grain of salt...and also, pay attention to their attitude...not about talking to you, but in how they answer you... a erson can tell you the truth and be posistive, but if it is all negative and even how they speak (tone, word usage) then alot of the problems they talk about, just might be because of that attitude....

That J in Spiceland is a good place, its home for me from time to time.....Stop by anytime....

I also aproach drivers to get there insight.I live north of Chicago so I go to the T/A at rusell rd .Just today I talked to a team with expediter service we sat in the T/A over coffee and talked for over 2 hours.I want to Thank them Jim and Geri.I wont mention last names .For there honesty and also letting me know another fleet owner ,who is honest.they were with Fed C/C.Two weeks ago ran into a o/o couple out of Ocala Fl.on highway 50 in Kenosha .they also were with fed c/c Also this web site has some great people who are helpful and always help anwser your Questions.I think if you can, you should go to the Expo on the 24th or 25 th.I am going, and have already been invited by serveral people to look for them.Plus an offer to stop by for a bar -b-q . Never been known to turn down a good meal lol.This is a business you need to learn every aspect of it to be profitable.Your not a truck driver , your a busness person.Good Luck .
