According to the Associated Press report, an eagle may have bitten off more than it could chew and dropped the fawn when it was flying away with its prey. The "deer with wings" got hung up on the power line and caused the lights to go out in a local neighborhood.

A NorthWestern Energy employee had the unfortunate job of removing the deer carcass from the line and restoring power to local residents. The lineman said he'd never seen anything like it.

Not uncommon for eagles to try to take prey of that size. Most likely had a nest in the area. Too bad it lost it. Deer are there to be eaten. It is one of the main reasons they exist. Nothing to feel sorry about except that the poor eagle lost it's load.

It was NOT Bambi!! the ONLY place that "Bambi" type deer exist in the US is on game farms and in zoos. Bambi was a European Red deer. Bambi was a Stag, that is MALE European red deer.

Geez, get your game animals right!!!!!! LOL!!

I REALLY get a kick out of it when parents name their GIRLS Bambi! I wonder what she will look like when she hits puberty and starts growing antlers???????????????????

Eagles usually tear the animal apart first....ALIVE..vicious killers...yes must have a nest close by and the eaglets will be a good size now....They also takes lambs...

There are youtube videos of several of these kinds of kills. One particularly impressive one is where an eagle grabs an adult mountain goat, tales it up and drops and smashes it into the rocks, then swoops down and picks it up and flies away with it. I'd post a link, but I'm on the Droid.

I thought it was the 3 Second Rule, not 30. In any case, the Mythbusters blew that one out of the water, showing that all it takes is a fraction of a second to pick up all the bacteria its going to.

Yeah so you might just as well extend it to 90 seconds then there is no rush.

Bambi was a Disney perversion of an old German political satire. It was also a VERY BAD cartoon having done considerable damage to modern conservation efforts. The personification of animals has lead many "city people" to really believe that animals "love" each other and play and sing and I want to vomit.

I have watch a doe kill her yearling fawn when it tried to go for some food she was after. Reality NEEDS to be taught. The silly, giggly school girl fantasies must go.

Sorry if the facts are not to your liking.

Eagles often tear apart their prey, but not always. They will take it back to a nest whole to avoid trips and losing some of the food.

Exactly, if you're going to eat it, as long as you grab it before the dog does, or the roaches or the mice, doesn't make much difference.

Anything I drop on the floor at home I won't eat, 'cause we eat enough dog hair as it from stuff that's in the refrigerator. It's amazing where all dog hair can get to. Anything I drop on the floor of the van I won't eat, 'cause I know where my feet have been.

I've found dog hairs in my hair(or lack of) and in my beard, contact lense case, paperwork, anywhere you look..and it's not due to a dirty house or lack of cleanliness. We were warned when we researched the breed

I don't think it really matters much with the breed, does it? You're gonna get pet hair and dander from any animal, including people. The majority of common house dust is flaked-off human skin, anyway, and you're eating the breathing that all day long. Yum.
