After how many hours of driving must you have at least 10 consecutive hours of off-duty or sleeper-berth time before you can drive again?

This regulation is found in Section 395.3(a)(1).

With all the training at Load One you should know this. That's one of the daily question.

As OVM is a $printer driver... the answer is "as many as you can safely drive".

As OVM is also a Canadian, if driving a vehicle over 10,000 lbs. (in these United States) for him it's some crazy number like 4.55 metric hours!!!! :D

I'll say 11 , or also 8, if you've exhausted your 14.

Everyone's waiting for the trick question. Like others I don't see the trick.

I was waiting for someone to ask, paper or electronic logs. :)

The question said "can".
With paper logs I could often drive 15-16 hours. I just couldn't log it.

I once logged 34 out of 36 hrs, all driving or on duty.

I put in the remarks that I wanted them to know what had to be done to get the job done.

A VP actually came down and thanked me for my effort.

A year or so later a close call with 45,000# of flammable in a bulk tank made me a convert to running legal.
