Log question

Near the end of the month a driver goes home to rest for a few days. 3 days in February and 3 days in March. The driver logs the last 3 days of the month and writes 3 days off duty at the bottom of his log. Then the first 3 days of March logs that and writes 6 days off duty, as a continuation. Is this correct? Or should it be 3 days in February and 3 days in March?

A friend of mine was told he was wrong and should have used the latter. I thought I'd get the correct interpretation here.
Thank you.

It should be done showing 3 days in feb and 3 days in march,if that is what actually took place. You can use 1 page to log the 3 days in Feb, and one log page to log the 3 days in March, as long as you show on that one page what days it is covering for, off dutystatus, location of off duty, and dates.

Legally the days need to be split on the two months logs.
