I got fed up with them about a year and a half ago. I have been leased to a small expediter co. in my area. We do a lot of local stuff, and once and awhile go to the east coast. It has been really slow lately, but I'm makeing enough right now to keep afloat. Look for a small local co. that can use you. In Atlanta area, there must be some. Good luck.

Expediting started out Automotive specific, and even though we are doing more and more different kinds of things these days, it still tends to lean that way. The major players seem to be headquartered in automotive freight lanes. FEDEX CC has had a good amount of freight originating in the Atlanta area in the past, and as the largest expediter out here, it seems to me that the odds are better with them outside of the OH, MI, IN, IL, KY, WI auto zone.
We had been with FEDEX CC for quite a while and decided to try another company, namely TRI-STATE. BIG MISTAKE!!! It wasn't better, just different. We ended up back with FEDEX CC and intend to stay put. Everyone is slow now and changing companies doesn't help, it only proves the point. I won't tell anyone that FEDEX CC is anywhere close to perfect, and they definitely have their odd rules and procedures, but if you can learn to play the game for mutual benefit, you can succeed in the long run.
My advice is to stay where you are, unless you want to get out of expediting altogether, which is a different story entirely! I would say the same thing to ANYONE who has been in the business more than ten minutes and has made the commitment to be in expediting!
All this comes from 32 years of trucking experience, the last 12 in expediting ( almost all with ROBERTS/FEDEX CC )

GOOD LUCK - WE ALL NEED SOME !! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Rumble,

There is something to be said about "staying put" while the boat is rocking. To switch and incur all the start up fees from a new carrier is just an added expense. Not to mention, learning a whole new system. I agree, if you can stick it out that may be the wise thing to do.

Of course if the boat is sinking....that's a whole new story!

Best Wishes!

of any major airport and there are many companies out there that
may be able to use you. rds has a termal in atlanta, also look in phone for freight forwarder,

eagle log has a web site and they have local and long haul and they have office in atlanta, they also go all over

You might want to contact the Landstar Express America agent in Atlanta.
They are in College Park, GA. I understand that in addition to being an agent for LEA they have their own trucks. They are at 800-307-7776 or 404-766-9377.
