Layout, I thought it was funny, no big deal ... happens a lot to me.

I'd find it funny too, [if it happened to me, not you], but I have to back Joe up on this one: he isn't one of those snobs at all.
Now, if he'd just delete those duplicate posts....

I ignored Steady Eddie when he infiltrated "the yard" last weekend. How was I supposed to know it was him?

I did just delete another one. I sure wish I knew what was causing that. I delete them when I see them. Thank you, I do NOT want to ever be thought of as a snob. It is just NOT my style.

Oh never thought he was a snob, it was just funny how everyone vacated as soon as I parked. I can't even consider Phil a snob, he and Diane have been cordial and inviting to talk to.

I wish that I could just buy the "name tag" part of our uniform shirts. The sewed on part that says FedEx Custom Critical. They I could buy better looking, more comfortable shirts, sew those tags on myself, still carry the brand name but look and feel better. I really dislike the low quality plastic sack shirts we were. I prefer a button down. I think that they look neater.

Actually Layout, if some of those tighta** employees in green would send you an electronic copy of FedEx's image manual, you can get any embroidery shop take the correct image from the copy and put it to cloth, it has been done by one of your great contracting cohorts to their nice LL Bean shirts.

I wish I could get that. I could do a LOT better job than what we have now. I don't know about Bean, they tend to cost a WHOLE lot more than they are worth. Of course the mark up on clothing is AMAZING. Clothing is where most stores make their money. 100% mark ups, or higher, are the norm. Columbia makes some nice shirts too. Dabluzman used to, or still does, do embroidery. Maybe he can work out something with FedEx. I would rather buy from someone I know anyway.

Bean would be the best thing to get, the life time thing makes it worth the money.

Working with FedEx? Why? They don't care if you use their name when you work for them. The manual is all over other divisions and it used to be at green but ....

Yeah, Bean is OK. I was not happy with the cut on the last few shirts I bought from them. Columbia fits me better than most. I am NOT a fan of cotton shirts. In summer I like VERY light weight fishing shirts, caped vented backs to stay cool. I don't do well once the temp gets much over 65. 70 and I am ROASTING!! In winter a nice, light weight micro-fleece. I don't know why FedEx does not allow this. Not my call, I do what I have too. They don't ask my opinion.

I would think Sprinter or Cargo Van, the fact he say's he's loaded at 1750lbs has something to do with the a lack of offers he's getting.

I am thinkin that is the biggest factor...i know I am seeing 2000-4000 lbs on a regular basis now with 2000-3400 being the bulk of my loads...

Got to love this "t'weener" I am driving now!!! Rocketman, you are going to love it!! :)

Oh ... so you are a slave?

You can wear anything you want (meaning material wise) as long as it fits into the program you have chosen to be in. Having custom made shirts and pants (not expensive once you locate them) seems out of their reach if it fits the style in the manual. The style isn't their exclusively, I think that place in Wynadote has FedEx style shirts on the rack.

No, I am NOT a slave. I meant getting just the name strips. It is spelled Wyandotte. That is the city next to where I was raised which is Riverview.

I'd argue that applies to all size of vehicles, not only the true expedite (van) class :D

You would not have to argue much as I would tend to agree, however because it is so much easier to wander unaware into expediting with a van than with a more costly truck that is more likely to be inspected and with which log books are required, the phenomenon is more pronounce in the van arena, is it not?

You made the tread there guru....stick with it...LOL...:p

Pssssst BTW Dan......Sprinter ball joints nearly never need changing unless you rip the boot and get dirt in them.....taking it easy doesn't really help....

Phil....Yes it is more pronounced down here....unskilled, little investment, little to lose....

Rockeman will love anything these days, now that he got rid of that bad honey and sore tooth. It's gotta be fun out there again.
