We have small stores.. Biggest chain store is 150 miles

The higher quality of life...lol...The money you save is burnt up by the gallons you consume getting there and back....lol...

Went to Krogers the other day....I realize it is a union store, but the prices! ouch! they ought to hand out bottles of vaseline at the entrance! Alot of items a dollar or more compared to Wal-Mart.

Walmart.com can be your friend!

Or it can become an enemy as well, if abused...lol...

When I was married I'd come home from running locals and there'd be a few boxes in the breezeway with my ex-mother in laws name on them, but my address...Turns out she didn't want her husband finding out.....as time went on, the amount of boxes increased.....till one day I come home, and I couldn't even get in the breezeway...seriously...Home shopping club sure got ahold of her! lol...And I put a stop to her using my address for purchasing needs...it was for her own good..Even going on e-bay can be addictive if there is no control and discipline.

Ya I know they are but all the grocery stores and other businesses are going away do to the big box store. We shop at Walmart when we need certain things but if not I am just as happy to go to a smaller local or other grocery store and pay a little more. Same with other things. When at home we shop entirely local owned. Not only does it help support the local community but it helps preserve family owned businesses. Certain food items like meat we will pay 20 to 30 cents more a pound for at our local meat market but the quality and service is worth it. Sometimes they will throw in a couple of burgers or a half pound of cheese with a 30 $ order. Or of I buy 4 or 5 steaks they will throw in baked potatoes. We just try to do as much local owned business as possible. Mom and Pop America is slowly going away and that's just our way of trying to slow it some more.

That is why we don't do our shopping there...when at home...it is Jack and Jill chain for us....the same 11.95 bag of cat food is 19.95 there..outch!! and another reason I stock up on the way home...
I like the feel and the service at Kroger...BUT there is a cost for that these days...

The dog food and paper goods and some person hygiene stuff is what we shop there for. Some stuff at dollar general or family dollar but we go to the local grocery and meat market for food. We use the chain stores or a local of we find one on the road. We love VG's in Michigan.

The online stuff comes in handy. My daughters birthday was Friday. Got on Best Buy.com ordered the camera she wanted she ran to the local store and picked it up.

Sent from my Fisher Price ABC-123.

I've used Walmart.com, while standing in the store. Watched the Walmart associate walk out and pull the item off the shelf, and 10 min later, I get the email saying my order is ready to pickup. Sometimes you can save a fair amount of money on items, doing that.
